£139million Wasted A Year in UK... By Throwing Eggs Away

Food Waste is a growing problem in the UK. So many households over purchase on their weekly groceries and don't consume even a small portion of what they have in their cupboards. As a result, perfectly good food gets past its best or gets thrown away.

A survey carried out showed that 29% of  households throw away eggs just because they are past their sell by date even though they are still perfectly good to consume. A third of all food produced globally is wasted.

The 29% of households who throw away perfectly good eggs amounts to a total of £139million per year. Think what you could save if you were a little more careful with what you purchase and how quickly you throw things out!
