Plant Manager & COTC Holder - Fridge Recycling Facility

About Us: GAP Alba is a newly established Scottish subsidiary of GAP Group Northeast, a leader in the recycling and resource recover management industry. We are launching a state-of-the-art fridge recycling and processing facility near Perth, which will be one of the most technologically advanced in the world. Our plant will have the capacity to recycle more than 24,000 tonnes of fridge and cooling waste annually, equivalent to over 650,000 fridges per year.
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Manager and COTC holder to oversee our new fridge recycling facility in Glenfarg. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective daily operations, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, efficiency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and optimise day-to-day operations to meet production targets and customer expectations
- Implement strategies to increase production capacity and flexibility while minimizing costs and maintaining quality standards
- Manage production output, product quality, and on-time processing of recycled materials
- Lead and develop a team of supervisors and production staff
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and environmental standards
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilise assets to produce optimal results
- Develop and monitor KPIs to track and improve productivity, efficiency, and performance
- Collaborate across departments to achieve company goals
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including senior management and staff.
- Stay updated on compliance, industry trends and best practices in WEEE recycling
- Manage budgets and financial performance
- Ensure compliance with WEEELABEX standards and other relevant regulations
- Represent GAP Group at meetings and events.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Plant Manager - preferably in recycling, waste management, or manufacturing industries
- WAMITAB level 4 (WEEE treatment) - or willingness to obtain qualification within 6 months
- Strong understanding of environmental sector. Knowledge of fridge recycling processes and WEEE regulations (not essential but preferred)
- WAMITAB accreditation
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strategic vision and forward-thinking ability
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Financial acumen - Understanding budgets, allocating resources efficiently, and presenting sound financial options for the plant.
- Experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and Microsoft Office 365 suite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
