GAP Group’s Tour-de-Fridge is officially underway!
Our charity cycle challenge, towing the first official fridge for our brand new fridge processing plant in Scotland, GAP Alba has begun. The journey is spanning from our Gateshead HQ to the Binn Eco Park in Perthshire, all in support of the amazing charity Changing Minds with Pick Up a Penny.
Starting bright and early, the atmosphere was buzzing with energy and purpose. With riders kitted out, support vehicles ready to roll, and banners flying high, the team officially hit the road on their journey.
More Than Cycling
The Tour-de-Fridge isn’t just about covering miles – it’s about starting conversations, making connections to bring vital change to the environment, and raising funds for mental health support services in our communities.
GAP Group CEO Peter Moody was on hand to launch the event, alongside Sarah Young, Director of Changing Minds with Pick Up a Penny, and our local MP Kate Osborne, who all spoke passionately about the importance of the event.
Uniting the Northeast and Scotland
The Tour-de-Fridge will see the team cycle across some of the UK’s most beautiful – and demanding – landscapes. As they move north, they’ll be making rest stops, engaging local communities, and spreading awareness along the way.
You can follow the riders' progress, stories from the road, and behind-the-scenes updates on our social media. And if you’d like to donate or learn more about the incredible work Changing Minds with Pick Up a Penny does, please visit their website.
