How It Works

Bin Delivery

We deliver the right WEEE containers to your sites matched to your volume and operational setup. Bins stay on-site for ongoing use between collections.

On-Site WEEE Segregation

Your staff, customers, or visitors place small electrical appliances into the clearly-marked bins. WEEE is segregated from general waste at the point of generation, keeping you compliant and avoiding contamination.

Scheduled Collection

Once your bins are ready for emptying, we collect nationwide using our own haulage fleet or partners. Collections are scheduled around your operations, whether that's a regular weekly run or a responsive call-off service.

Sorting & Processing

At our licensed WEEE facility, Items suitable for reuse are diverted to reuse partners. Everything else is depolluted and recycled.

Documentation & Reporting

Every collection is fully documented. You receive duty of care paperwork, WEEE transfer notes, weight data, and ESG-ready reports covering recycling rates, reuse volumes, and diversion from landfill.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between the Correx WEEE Box and the Economy WEEE Box?
The Correx WEEE Box is a large pallet-sized container (1200mm x 1000mm x 1000mm) designed for higher-volume sites like large retail stores, HWRCs, and distribution centres. The Economy WEEE Box is a smaller container (600mm x 400mm x 400mm) suited to lower-volume sites or where space is limited, like smaller shops and offices.
Do I have to buy the bins or can I lease them?
The bins remain GAP's property - you don't buy or lease them unless otherwise arranged. We supply the containers as part of your collection service agreement. They stay on-site between collections and we maintain or replace them as needed.
Are the bins clearly marked for WEEE compliance?
Yes. All bins are clearly marked with WEEE signage to ensure they meet regulatory requirements for visible segregation and, where applicable, customer take-back points.
How often will you collect from my WEEE bins?
Collections are scheduled based on your volumes and site requirements. We can provide regular weekly or monthly collections, or a responsive call-off service where you contact us when bins are ready for emptying.
What happens to the contents once you collect them?
Items suitable for reuse are diverted. Everything else is depolluted and recycled at our licensed facility with full compliance documentation.
Can you supply WEEE bins to multiple sites?
Yes. We provide WEEE bins and collection services across all UK sites under a single agreement. One supplier, consistent service, and unified documentation regardless of how many locations you operate.
Do the bins work for all WEEE types?
The bins work for most WEEE categories including small electrical appliances, batteries, lamps, and small screens. Fridges, freezers, and large white goods require separate handling due to size and hazardous material content - these are covered under our dedicated fridge and white goods recycling services.
What documentation will I receive?
You'll receive duty of care paperwork, WEEE transfer notes, weight tickets, and ESG reports covering recycling rates, reuse volumes, and diversion from landfill for every collection. Everything you need for WEEE compliance checks and sustainability reporting.
Are you licensed to process all WEEE categories?
Yes. Our treatment facilities operate under Environmental Permits and we're licensed for WEEE treatment including depollution of batteries, mercury-containing lamps, and hazardous components. All processes meet WEEE regulatory standards.
Do you work with waste brokers?
Yes. Waste brokers are a core part of our client base. We supply WEEE bins to your clients' sites and provide full downstream traceability and compliance documentation so you can fulfil your duty of care obligations.
