How It Works

Container Delivery

We deliver the right WEEE containers to your site matched to your volume and operational setup. Alternatively you can put your WEEE items on a pallet.

Arrange your collection or Drop Off

We collect small electrical appliances from your sites nationwide using our own haulage fleet or partners. Collections are scheduled to suit your operational needs — whether that's a one-off clearance or a regular service contract.

Sorting & Reuse Assessment

On arrival at our facility, items are sorted by category and assessed for reuse potential. Working appliances in good condition are directed to reuse partners rather than immediately recycled, improving your diversion rates and circular economy credentials.

WEEE Treatment & Recycling

Items not suitable for reuse are processed at our licensed WEEE treatment facility. Components including metals, plastics, and circuit boards are separated and sent to approved downstream recyclers.

Documentation and reporting

Every collection is fully documented. You receive duty of care paperwork, WEEE transfer notes, weight data, and ESG-ready reports covering recycling rates, reuse volumes, and carbon impact.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What types of WEEE containers does GAP provide?
We offer three options.

The Correx WEEE Box is a flat-pack, pallet-sized box suited to higher-volume sites — stackable when empty and easy to store.

The Economy WEEE Box is a smaller option for lower-volume or space-restricted sites.

We also accept WEEE presented on pallets directly, so if palletising already suits your operation, no additional boxing is needed.
How do I get the containers?
For contract customers, containers are delivered as part of your service setup. For flexible or one-off arrangements, speak to our team about what suits your volumes and site layout.
What counts as a small electrical appliance for WEEE purposes?
Small electrical appliances include any electrical or electronic equipment outside specialist categories such as large household appliances or cooling equipment. Common examples include kettles, toasters, irons, hair dryers, power tools, phones, tablets, radios, and clocks. If it has a plug or a battery, it's likely covered.
Do you collect from multiple sites?
Yes. We provide scheduled collections across all UK sites under a single service agreement. Whether you have two locations or two hundred, we manage the logistics so you don't have to.
Can you handle a one-off clearance as well as regular collections?
Both. We work with clients on one-off office or site clearances and on ongoing scheduled collections. Speak to our team about your volumes and requirements.
Do you assess items for reuse before recycling?
Yes. Items in working condition are assessed for reuse and diverted to reuse partners where viable. This improves your overall diversion rate and supports circular economy commitments.
What documentation will I receive?
You'll receive duty of care paperwork, WEEE transfer notes, weight tickets, and ESG reports covering recycling rates, reuse volumes, and carbon savings. Everything you need for audits, compliance checks, and sustainability reporting.
Are you registered to handle WEEE?
Yes. We operate licensed WEEE treatment facilities and are registered with the Environment Agency. All downstream material routes are to approved and audited recyclers.
How quickly can collections be arranged?
Most collections are scheduled within 10 working days. For urgent clearances or high-volume requests, speak to our team about priority arrangements.
Do you work with waste brokers?
Yes. Waste brokers are a core part of our client base. We provide full compliance documentation and downstream traceability so you can fulfil your duty of care obligations to your own clients.
How do I get started?
Get in touch with our WEEE team. We'll assess your requirements, confirm the right container setup for your sites, and put together a service that works for your operations and reporting needs.
