New Charges Released for Landfill Permits

Changes have been made to the environmental permitting system and the charges relevant. The changes have been made by the Environment Agency and will come into force on 1st April 2020.
Closed landfill sites have maintained more or less the same level of charges since the 90's with slight increases in line with inflation. The increase will come in to play to help cover the costs of additional monitoring which is required at the closed Landfill sites.
The rates will be between £600 to £3000 per annum depending upon the level of monitoring that the site requires.
