UK Opposes Recycling Targets

Defra has strongly denied that the UK is opposing recycling targets of 65% by 2030 which have been put forward by the EU. The recent claims were made last week a publication of Greenpeace - “Unearthed”.

The current laws which are in place state that the EU must achieve a recycling rate of 50% by 2020 however despite massive improvements over the previous decade, the current rate of recycling stands at 44%.
