Regular Collections Needed to Handle Food Waste

The Trade Body for Anaerobic Digestion has said that regular collections need to be put in place to minimise the UKs food waste. Where services are not already in place they advise that this could take a minimum of three years to roll out.

Collections would need to be made weekly in order to prevent the volume of inedible food recycled through AD into renewable biogas and digestate.
